My approach to photography from a pricing perspective is somewhat different than most. Here's how it works: If I do a photo shoot for you, I give you all the photos and exclusive copyrights privileges with the photos. Which means you can make as many copies, prints, or posters of any of the photos I've taken for you. All I do is charge one flat-rate for the photo shoot, and give you all the photos (on CD). It's that easy. You do the printing wherever you like. I just take the pictures. (our favorite place to get prints is mpix.com) If this sounds like common sense, listen to this. Most photographers charge a sitting fee, which usually is a fairly low price. Then after the photo shoot, the photographer still owns all the photos legally. Then you (the customer) are forced to purchase every single individual copy of the photographs for a steep price. For example, a photographer charges $50 for a shoot, but after you get the prints you and your family want, you'll end up spending up to $800-$2,000 on it all.
