The Photography
I started taking photos when I was 12, on my dad's old school Canon film camera. I immediately knew I loved it, and I would be doing it for the rest of my life. In high school I began a photography company, which, after graduation, led to my employment at Trinity Fellowship Church, a fantastic church in Amarillo, Texas. I learned all sorts of amazing things while I worked there.  I became their Senior Video Producer, where I worked heavily in motion graphics, videography, photography, editing, and things of that sort. Working at Trinity was an absolute blessing for me to gain friends, knowledge, and experience. I began Joseph Elliott Photography in June of 2007 out of a love for photography and a love for working with people.

A Short Bio

My full name is Joseph Elliott Schlabs, although most of my close friends call me Joey. I was born in 1986, in Hereford, Texas. I was raised out in the country, about 5 miles south of town. My house was always surrounded by corn, sugar beats, or cotton. Growing up, I fell in love with the Texas plains. Today, I love taking drives across random country roads. If you look at some of my first few images in the places gallery, you'll see what I'm talking about. First, I was home schooled, then went to a small private school called Hogwarts (or Community Christian). And then in high school went to Hereford High. Currently, I am 22 years old and engaged to the most beautiful and amazing girl in the world. I have two brothers, one sister, one sister-in-law, and two incredible parents. These days, I live in Amarillo, Texas.

My Gear

I shoot with a Canon 40D (with a vertical grip). I've shot Canon and Nikon most of whole life, but for some reason I just like Canonn a little bit more. It's like MAC versus PC. Or The Beatles versus the Rolling Stones. There's good sides to both.

Hear's a list of my favorite lenses I shoot with:

Canon 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro

Canon 50mm L f/1.2 USM
